I AM

This series consists of twelve children's portraits. Each painting is based on a real story, placing children from different countries in a colourful world that contrasts sharply with reality. Each portrait symbolises one of the rights of the child.

The first three portraits are about three young girls. All three are set against a colourful flowery background. At first glance, they look like brightly coloured paintings, where each girl looks at you with an uninhibited and innocent look.

The following portraits are set against a colourful background based on African fabrics, native animals and folkloristic items.
